We often hear that a hotel will only offer 3 out of 10 available rooms via MeetingMarket. This strategy (I only offer 3 rooms as a contingency) has proved itself to be extremely harmful to sales in this particular sector.
The biggest problem is that your hotel is displayed everywhere as “sold out” when the three rooms or meeting rooms are booked. Customers then tend not to even call to inquire whether any rooms might be available.
Advice: If you want to sell something, you "must have it on the shelf" (it must be seen as bookable). Otherwise the result might be that every day you end up with unfilled capacity for which there may still be demand.
